Transportation in Venice

To reach Venice (from Punta Sabbioni) it is mandatory to use a ferry. There are, therefore, several shipping companies that we can divide into two groups: private transport and public transport.

Private transportation
Economically it is very advantageous (€ 10.00 per person) for the outward and return journeys, but has limited hours:
Departures: 9:15 am - 10:15 am - 11:15 am - 12:15 pm | Returns: 2.30pm - 4.00pm - 6.00pm
Excellent for those who don't want to spend too much time in Venice.

Public transportation
It provides an unbeatable service (one departure every 30 min) but it has a higher cost (€ 15.00 per person) for the outward and return journeys.
Ideal for those who want some freedom.

Move to Venice

The peculiarity of Venice is that of being a pedestrian city, in fact it is not possible to access it by car. You can, however, make trips by ferry: it is very common to use the vaporetti to move from one end of the city (or the canal) to the other.

The ticket usually costs € 7.50 for a single route, but you can always save: the day ticket will cost you € 20.00.

The day ticket will last 24 hours from the first validation and will allow you to take (for an unlimited number of times) all the lines of the public company (A.C.T.V.). → booking here

For some years there has been the "Family Ticket" which, at a cost of € 35.00 will allow 1 adult and 1 or 2 children (up to 11 years) to have the same privileges as the day ticket (for 24 hours it will allow you to take, for an unlimited number of times, all the lines of the public company). The bill is quickly done: a family (2 adults and 1 or 2 children) will pay € 55.00 to use the lines of the public company (A.C.T.V.) for the day. → booking here

Major islands

Burano, Murano and Torcello are the most visited islands in the Venetian lagoon.

For those unfamiliar with them, there are three small islands that have become famous for their craftsmanship and history. Burano, in fact, is the island of Merletti and Bussolà, an island that stands out from the others for its various colors and dialect which, over the years, has taken on a different contamination. Murano is the famous island of glass, in fact (by a law issued by the Doge following a fire) that island where glass furnaces were confined, the sculpture of the latter was perfected in the last thousand years. Torcello, the island rich in history and which preserves the origin of Venice: the first settlement in the lagoon and the first buildings, the basilica and the throne of Attila.

To discover these islands there are two possibilities:
